Early Involvement In Design Ensures Success

McKeon Door of DC worked alongside IA Interior Architects and HITT Contracting on ICF International’s new global headquarters in Reston, VA.

ICF International’s headquarters occupy an entire eight-story glass office building at Reston Station, a new mixed-use development along Metro’s Silver Line. Variations of McKEON side-sliding S7000 fire door systems were used on all eight floors to address code challenges within the architect’s horizontal exit strategy. The client wanted open design and collaboration between all spaces within the office. The S7000s provided seamless protection of the resultant wide span openings. In total, ICF’s headquarters houses three models of the S7000 series fire door systems — one S7500 (1-complying egress door), sixteen S7200s (no egress required), and thirteen S7400s (2-egress doors in each assembly). This project also features one CS3000-PP non fire-rated coiling counter shutter.
