AUTO-SET® TECHNOLOGY
Available exclusively in motor operation, the S4000 eliminates the need for manual intervention. The motor can be positioned in various locations around the top of the coil box, offering flexibility in installation. Equipped with Auto-Set® Resetting Technology, the S4000 automatically resets after a fire alarm or power failure, restoring full functionality without the need for technician intervention.
CAPTURED SPRING FORCE
This advanced system harnesses the power of a massive internal spring to close the S4000 during power loss. By capturing and storing energy, the spring ensures the S4000 can close safely and efficiently without relying on external power sources.
NO EGRESS
S4000 does not come with egress options. While it offers fire & smoke protection, if egress is needed through the opening, the Model S9000 is the perfect solution. Virtually identical to the S4000 in design and performance, the S9000 includes an integrated egress door for safe exits during emergencies without compromising on protection.
MINIMAL REVEAL
The S4000 features a minimal head track, making it a perfect fit for projects where space is limited. This compact design ensures a smooth and nearly seamless integration with the surrounding construction. With its slim profile and thoughtful engineering, the S4000 head track allows for a clean, unobtrusive look while maintaining full fire protection.

Is the S4000 available with manual operation?
No, the S4000 is only available with motorized operation. Manual operation is not an option for this model.
Where can the motor be placed for the S4000?
The motor can be placed on any of the four sides around the top of the coil box, offering flexibility in installation and access.
How does the Auto-Set® technology work in the S4000?
The Auto-Set® resetting technology allows the door to automatically reset after a fire alarm or power failure without the need for a technician. A simple key switch resets the door to the open position.
How does the S4000 close without power?
The S4000 uses captured spring force technology to close during a power failure, ensuring the fire separation is complete.
Does the S4000 come with egress capabilities?
No, the S4000 does not offer egress options. However, the S9000 model, which is virtually the same in every way, does come with an integrated egress door.
When should I consider the S9000 instead of the S4000?
If your project requires egress capabilities, the S9000 would be the better option as it includes an egress door while retaining the same design and performance features as the S4000.

When should I consider the S9000 instead of the S4000?
If your project requires egress capabilities, the S9000 would be the better option as it includes an egress door while retaining the same design and performance features as the S4000.
What should I consider when specifying a pocket door for the S4000?
Key considerations include load-bearing capabilities, mag holder options, latching mechanisms, and overall space for pocketing the door.
What curved head track options are available for the S4000?
The S4000 offers 12-inch radius when turning toward the coil box and 3-foot radius when turning away from the coil box.
Is the Coil Box Pit always required for the S4000?
No, a Coil Box Pit is only necessary if the finished floor isn't built up by 1 ½ inches. You can either dig a recessed pit or build up the floor to accommodate the curtain’s base.
When should a floor track be specified?
A floor track is typically required for doors over 13 feet in height or in areas with high air pressure, such as stair shafts or pressurized spaces.
What is the recommended size difference for the Coil Box Pit?
The Coil Box Pit should be slightly larger than the actual coil box to allow for adjustments during installation.
